Clustering an IBM Sametime 8.5.2 Gateway environment

This article describes a worked example detailing the cluster process for a two-node horizontal cluster in an IBM® Sametime® 8.5.2 Gateway environment, in which both the Deployment Manager and the Sametime Gateway Primary node are installed on a single server, with the Secondary Gateway node on a separate server.

The article also discusses the installation of the XMPP server and the installation and configuration of the Sametime Gateway Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) proxy. In this case the SIP proxy is to be implemented on the same server as the Secondary Gateway node.

New clustering approach in IBM Lotus Connections v2.5

The Lotus Connections 2.5 installation wizard is a powerful tool with which you can install Lotus Connection in a stand-alone environment or a cluster environment.

Lotus Connections 2.5 adds many new features, such as Files and Wikis, to the previous 2.0.1 version. The version 2.5 installation wizard also has big changes, while integrating the functionality of the v2.0.1 cluster wizard, allowing you to easily set up a Connections cluster environment.

In this article we describe this new approach to installing a Lotus Connections network deployment, and also discuss the detailed steps to troubleshoot errors that may occur.

IBM – When does a Domino cluster failover occur while in a database?

You use two Lotus Domino clustered servers, ServerA and ServerB. ServerA acts as a home mail server and ServerB contains replica copies of all databases that exist on ServerA.

If you are in a database on ServerA and ServerA goes down, will you automatically failover to the replica copy of the database on ServerB?
