Problem
For Domino 8.5.2 and 8.5.3, when load / apply fix pack installer on IBM i, the installation will update OSGI folders and files to reflect time stamp changes between Gold and fix pack version, this process also removes previously installed SLP folders and files in the same OSGI directory.
Resolving the problem
Customers need to install SLP last for Domino fix packs on IBM i deployment. If customers have installed SLP before, they need to reinstall SLP after finishing applied Domino fix packs.

IBM® Lotus® Domino® Document Manager (DDM) has been providing customers with document management services for more than a decade. DDM is now being replaced by other, more advanced software.
IBM has announced that it will officially end standard DDM support services on 30 September 2012. The general replacement product is IBM Lotus Quickr® 8.5.1 for Domino (hereafter called Quickr Domino). All DDM customers who are current with their maintenance and support are entitled to the Quickr Domino license and it is on their Passport Advantage account. Other no-cost entitlements are also available, including IBM FileNet Content Manager Collaboration Edition and IBM Content Manager Collaboration Editon (contact your IBM Account Representative or Business Partner to have the DDM Program Office contacted for an entitlement change). Other similar products include IBM Connections Content Edition and Docova (from business partner DLI.tools).

Installing Lotus Connections for Domino 8.5.3 « The Tech Connection
Perhaps the biggest news around the release of Domino 8.5.3 is the free entitlement to Lotus Connections Files and Profiles. This is really big news. I can’t think of a single customer of mine that does not have some method of sharing files and some method of providing access to a directory of employees. The fact that they now are entitled to the foundation of what is arguably the best business social networking software on the market should have them all planning for the upgrade. While the entitlement to the software is free, there are still costs involved in implementing Lotus Connections. This article will help get you started with the planning process.
