Can’t afford IBM Services? Are you a roll up your sleeve and get down and dirty type of guy or gal? I mean that in a professional way of course. Well, here’s an attempt to walk you through the migration process step-by-step. Keep in mind that these are general steps for migration and doesn’t take into account any unique nuances your environment may have.
Several of my customers are undertaking a seemingly daunting task of migrating from Portal v5.x to v6.1 or v6.0.x to v6.1. Questions like, where do I start? How do I plan? What are the steps? What are the Best Practices? What are the “gotchas”? Where do I go to find resources on migration?
Well look no further, IBM has created a central location to help answer all your questions regarding migration. Now set aside some time and peruse through the information to better equiped you and your staff for this not so daunting endeavor. It’s only daunting if you think it is and aren’t prepared. Don’t quoate me on that, but I think I found that quote in a Fortune Cookie. 🙂
